so maybe adelaide was a workaholic and needed a social life. that is why her best friend david told her to come meet him down by a little bistro that served great sandwiches and happened to be by a record store and a bookstore. both of which were her two favorite spots to hit up whenever she had the time. in high school (and even now) phyrra was a little uptight. it wasn't until she experienced her mental breakdown after the ending of her first marriage - and then proceed to take a break from college - when she decided to live a little. when her marriage fell apart, her world came crashing down and she could never, ever let that happen to her again.
music was her escape. by day, she was dr. brennan, speech and language pathologist for young children. by night, she was simply herself, preforming her songs at a smaller, more less visited music lounge for square one didn't allow folk, indie songwriters to play gigs at their hard rock venue. no one ever believed her when she said she was a musician who preformed in front of an actual audience. many were under the impression that she was too shy, too meek to do such a thing. well, those people were wrong and obviously did not know her well. adelaide had quite the boisterous attitude and loved to have fun without the interference of drugs or too much alcohol.
hearing a tiny "bleep" come from her bag, she opened the purse and searched through its contents, trying to find her phone. finally locating the small blackberry pearl, she read the text message from david, in which he wrote that he couldn't make it because of a last minute plan. she rolled her eyes at his flakiness and responded to the text with a, "no problem" and a smiley face. she tucked her phone into the side pocket of her purse and continued to walk towards the bistro. she was out and might as well continue on with the day's plans, even if she would be doing so alone. she placed her name with the waitress and stood outside, waiting for her name to be called.

It was an alright day and Charlie needed caffeine. He had had a long week and screwing girls added to his major headache. He tried his best to remember their names, Nancy, no Ninah ya she was good. He wondered if he'd ever see her again, if not it wasn't that big of a loss, she was good though. The other girl was something as well, Lana, no it was Lonny. And odd name, it helped Charlie remember her better. Rounding the corner he wore faded blue jeans, black boots, and a navy blue long sleeve shirt, the sleeves rolled up. A smoke hung from his mouth, a he liked this bistro. He liked their drinks. Tossing his smoke he opened the door.
He went into the entrance of the bistro. There wasn't a line but there was a blond before him, was she waiting before him. He grabbed an extra paper from one of the racks against the wall, his eyes looked her over, she had a nice body. He stood beside her the rolled up newspaper in his hand he tapped it against his leg before he leaned in towards her. "You waiting in line love?" he asked a half smile crossing his features.

adelaide was not the type of girl who got exhausted from sex, mainly because she hadn't had any in a long, long time. no, the things that exhausted her were staying up all night reading, or maybe an energetic performance, or a hardcore work out. she would also never, ever have casual sex with a person. that simply was not her. she recalled having waited months before she finally gave up her virginity to alec. was she a prude? maybe, but she kind of liked to think of it as having morals and respecting herself.
at the sound of an unexpected male voice, the little blonde jumped about ten feet in the air. she turned around and looked at the stranger. "no, i'm getting my nails done." she said to him, her tone a little snippy. he had scared her after all. her friggen' heart was still racing from the damn scare. shyly, she looked up at him, man, he was tall and really, really good looking. better looking than any man she had ever been with (which was only alec, by the way).
adelaide opened her mouth to apologize but not before the seating hostess cut her off. "two, then?" she asked adelaide, looking at her and then back at the mysterious man. unsure if he was waiting for someone, adelaide looked over at him, letting him make the call.

Charlie was taken back by her snappy remark and was just about to tell her off when the hostess came over. Charlie looked to her, she was cute, he then looked back to the little blonde girl she was even cuter. Charlie smirked and looked back to the hostess "two love" he said. The hostess smiled and ushered for them to follow her outside onto the patio were other small bistro style tables were. Charlie pulled the chair out for the small blonde before sitting down himself.
He ordered a beer, leaning on the table he placed the newspaper down before speaking. "So you getting them nails done after?" he joked in a sarcastic joking tone. Charlie flashed her a half smile before he reached across the table open handed "Charlie Sikes love" he introduced himself.
